Our Client is an exciting, recently new start-up company and they are part of a global organization within the Oil & Gas sector. They will provide Technical Engineering resources, act as Owners Engineer and support Green Energy development and deployment and support their parent company with the provision of Green Energy Solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer who will be based at their corporate Head Office in Houston (hybrid model).


Job Summary: To work as a Senior Principal Engineer in the Mechanical Team. Duties, roles and responsibilities are listed below.


Duties:

  • Recognized leader and authority in the company in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow but intensely specialized field
  • Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
  • Applies sound and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on engineering activities.
  • Acts as internal consultant to engineers and technical staff.
  • Works with Business Development personnel on client proposals.
  • Assigns all engineering work including checking of calculations; reviews engineering sketches.
  • May represent Company in outside discussions and technical forums.
  • Becomes thoroughly familiar with codes, client and project specific specifications, procedures, vendor data, general arrangements and other site design requirements.
  • Coordinates with counterparts in other departments as needed.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs computer and manual design calculations.
  • Provides overall supervision as required
  • Capable of preparing material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages.
  • Reviews other disciplines and vendor print inter-squad drawings.
  • Reviews and helps update drawing schedule. Makes man-hour forecasts. Keeps Chief informed of any changes in staffing requirements.
  • Stamps drawings as required
  • Saves and maintains original calculations and reports of project files.
  • Assigned as a lead engineer on all sizes of projects.


Education:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Typically 12+ years of experience
  • PE, preferred
  • Front-End through Detailed Engineering experience across all types of equipment (Heat Transfer, Rotating and Static Equipment etc).
  • Clean/Green Energy project experience a plus.
