About the Role 

This role is based in Chicago, IL and reports directly to P33’s Senior Development Officer. 


The Manager of Grants & Development will work in close collaboration with P33’s operations team to manage a portfolio of institutions, major donors, and corporations to secure major gifts in support of P33’s mission. The Manager is responsible for supporting development and revenue operations in partnership with P33’s internal operations team. Primary responsibilities for this role include: 


Development Operations: 

  • Maintaining accurate and timely records and data. Ensuring all donor reporting requirements and deliverables are fulfilled in a timely manner. 
  • Collaborating in the creation of budgets, forecasts, analyses, and presentations in close partnership with the Senior Development Officer. 


Prospecting & Portfolio Management: 

  • Maintaining a qualified sales/fundraising pipeline: Identify, research, qualify, prioritize, and coordinate the management of donor prospects. 
  • Supporting grant reporting (both fiscal and programmatic) 
  • Ensuring timely engagement and follow-ups with major donors 
  • Strategizing on renewals and effective account management 


Solicitation: 

  • Managing the development of compelling fundraising and grant proposals. 
  • Drafting solicitation emails, slide decks, and fundraising correspondence for corporate partners and donors.
  • Assisting the CEO and senior leadership staff with their funding solicitations, managing follow-up from proposal to the securing of funds. 


Key Qualifications 

  • Most successful candidates will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in nonprofit development/major gifts fundraising, venture fundraising, sales, or other revenue generation experience. (Candidates who have different levels or types of experience but can make a compelling case for their candidacy are also encouraged to apply.) 
  • Demonstrated experience with using technology platforms/CRMs to optimize sales processes and stakeholder management/engagement. 
  • Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising. Ability to convey complex ideas through brief, simple materials. 
  • Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organization and externally. 
  • Experience with platforms such as Canva, Airtable, and HubSpot CRM is a plus. 


The Interview Process 

  • Round 1: 45 Minute discussion with Senior Development Officer 
  • Round 2: 60 Minute panel interview with three to four P33 team members. Interview will include a prepared response to a short case/question prompt.
