Summary:


We are representing an established General Contractor near the Los Angeles, CA area that has specialized in Public Works, K-12, and Higher Education projects for the last 20 years. With over 100+ projects in the Public Sector space they are have built a solid reputation and continue to have a deep pipeline of upcoming projects with repeat clientele.


*Their portfolio of projects spans across various school districts within the SCAL and Central regions. So as an organization they do their best to keep their Superintendents busy with projects in relatively distance of where they reside. This first project would be north of the Fresno, CA area.


Responsibilities:


  • This individual will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure quality and timely completion of the project
  • Provide on-site field administration, supervision and technical management of all construction operations, supervision of assistants, foremen, subcontractors and other construction-related personnel
  • Manage scope of work
  • Assist in development of detailed CPM Schedule
  • Assists Project Manager in developing construction schedule and maintaining the schedule from project inception to completion
  • Verifies and approves employee timecards
  • Complete the inspection request process
  • Schedules and directs all inspections with city and state officials, government agencies and private agencies as required
  • Coordinate and document punch-list completion in a timely
  • Maintains all general condition costs
  • Review and understand material budgets and negotiate purchase orders
  • Review and understand equipment budgets and negotiate rental rates
  • Develop a project site logistics plan
  • Schedules trade and material deliveries
  • Assists Project Manager and Estimator with bid process
  • Produce and submit RFI Logs, daily reports, incident reports, safety reports
  • Performs safety management responsibilities including planning, communicating, monitoring, enforcing and documenting all safety training and issues that may arise
  • Provide leadership in the safety and accident prevention programs


Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of construction delivery systems, the construction administration processes, building trades, technical aspects of construction including means and methods, materials, building systems, planning, scheduling and estimating
  • Prior experience as journeyman or foreman carpenter
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Extensive knowledge of construction principles/practices
  • Experience directing and coordinating trade subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Hearing and visual capabilities to safely handle the hazards encountered in the work environment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as encountered in the work environment
  • Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Seals Construction, Inc.’s and insurance carrier’s standards
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training
  • Procore, P6, or experienced utilized Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
