We are in search of an experienced Staff/Senior Systems Engineer to join the IT Operations team. Our ideal teammate will be responsible for maintaining production infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud, as well as automating many processes and escalations from various other teams to assist in the challenges of scaling a rapidly growing company.


Your Role:

  • Under limited supervision, assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems and platforms.
  • Function as a subject matter expert or project leader as needed.
  • Research and test how production on-premises environments could be migrated to cloud environments, and when appropriate, work with stakeholders to transition environments from on premises to cloud.
  • Perform work requiring a high level of technical knowledge of a specific area or ability to integrate at a high level the knowledge of several areas.
  • Provide technical guidance for projects involving large-scale, complex, and highly analytical tasks.
  • Work is performed within a broad framework of general policy and requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives, and in applying concepts, plans and strategies which may deviate from traditional methods and practices.
  • Serve as a systems integrator for large complex systems and networks.
  • Oversee the performance of day-to-day operational support for cloud infrastructure, servers, virtual environments, storage, and network infrastructures.
  • Oversee the building, patching, testing (check for compatibility issues, conducts QA) and deployment of systems and platforms meeting clients’ needs and specifications.
  • Plan and implement changes to infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
  • Oversee storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.
  • Document complex procedures and complex troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks/platforms software and hardware.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, optimize operational efficiency, and troubleshoot problems arising in the infrastructure environments.
  • Participate in deployment of overall enterprise disaster recovery (DR) strategy.
  • Develop and analyze complex cloud environments.
  • Participate in the design and support of identity and access management systems.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.

Your Background:

  • 5-7 years of systems engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 2+ years of scripting, infrastructure, and cloud administration.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Azure.
  • Experience migrating production workloads from on-premises environments to cloud environments, focusing on change management, IaC best practices, standards, security, and maintainability.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, VMware, and equivalent cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows servers, active directory, and Azure AD.
  • Experience managing and maintaining network environments.
  • Experience with Linux servers and environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting or Python, automation technology, and related tolls.
  • Passion for technical and engineering problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with integration, installation, test, and documentation of new and/or modified capabilities into complex systems.
  • Ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program.
