Summary

In this role as a Terminal Manager you will be responsible for leading a team and it's different departments within the terminal. You will be a key contact for existing drivers, new drivers, and vendors alike while working on a daily basis with the other offices and departments within the company to guarantee a smooth flow of operations.


You will also be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our terminal, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and timely delivery to our customers. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, analyze transportation data, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, experienced and determined to maintain Expedited Trans high standards of operation while helping take the company to the next level of growth in its history.

Though we have a large logistical operation in regards to our dozens of drivers and trucks; we have a concise staff that works well together in a team environment. This allows our staff to communicate with other departments seamlessly while learning new skillsets. Expedited Trans is an expedited motor carrier company established in 2012 headquartered in Miami, FL with terminals in Jacksonville, FL and Chicago, IL focused on picking up and delivering long distance freight throughout the lower 48 contiguous United States. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Experience in freight logistics industry is a must.
  • Experienced leader with 10+ years of experience.
  • Able to train and supervise terminal staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Setting expectations with Drivers for rules of the road according to company standards.
  • Communicating with drivers on a regular basis.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in dispatching or managing transportation operations is preferred
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and logistics management principles
  • Experience (Min 5 year) working with drivers and shippers.
  • Great verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with drivers, employees and partner vendors.
  • Understanding DOT regulations, HOS, expedited trucking standards.
  • Flexibility in Scheduling, available to work weekends if necessary.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Special attention to detail & strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literate with expert working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Savvy use of logistics systems. Experience with using McLeod Software a plus.
  • Reliable form of transportation.
  • Reachable by phone or text on nights and weekends.
