Summary of the role and responsibilities:
Employ customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions
with technical and business teams
Analyse on premises transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DB2,
PostgreSQL, evaluate and plan migrations to AWS RDS, Aurora
Consulting skills for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production
deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance
Experience in performance optimization, query tuning and database parameter tuning
Hands-on experience on AWS Services – RDS, Aurora, SCT, DMS
Assist in migrating large (>5TB) databases across database engines – Oracle / SQL Server to PostgreSQL
Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
Assist team members in resolving issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 14 years of experience in database development/migration using Oracle/SQL
Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL 4+ years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Database Speciality Certification
Hands-on experience on AWS Services – RDS, Aurora, SCT, DMS
Experience with Scripting language (bash/Perl/python)
Experience in database migration using PLSQL, PL/pgSQL, T-SQL
Experience in Database Administration – backup/restore, replication, etc.
Experience in performance optimization, query tuning and database parameter tuning
Experience in ETL workflow management (optional)
Experience in building re-usable artefacts, architecture patterns and continuous improvement
Experience handling demanding customer expectations,
Good Troubleshooting and Communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with Datawarehouse’s like Netezza, Amazon Redshift, GreenPlum
Experience in ETL workflow management
