Position Description:

The ERP Project Manager at MERIT Controls is responsible for managing the successful deployment, ongoing management, and continuous improvement of the ERP system. This role requires working closely with internal cross-functional teams, to develop ERP requirements, evaluate software solutions, and lead the deployment and subsequent management and improvement of the ERP system.


The ERP Project Manager will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, commitment to task, sense of urgency, and strong teamwork skills. A well organized, agile individual that can operate with considerable autonomy with overall guidance is desired. This position will report to the Director of Project Management Office (PMO).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Merit Controls team to understand the business, the product, the industry, and Merit’s growth plans
  • Liaise with internal groups to understand the needs and wants of the proposal to contract, order to cash, purchase to pay, service management, and accounting cycles
  • Document system requirements resulting from above understanding
  • Actively participate and lead process re-engineering or streamlining activities as necessary
  • Evaluate solutions considering system requirements and overall value to the business
  • Award solution to ERP provider and manage deployment through go-live
  • Identify and track project risks and issues, define mitigation and contingency plans
  • Provide regular communication of project status, risks and issues to steering committee and working groups
  • Training groups on use of system, solicit improvements for improved efficiency / effectiveness
  • Work with stakeholders and working groups to develop dashboards to monitor, manage and improve the business
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the entire ERP Ecosystem, component applications and integrations, supporting end-users with any queries or issues and liaising with third party support where necessary
  • Monitor system performance, maintain and grow system as business needs grow and change
  • Continue to deploy systems and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage relationships with software and third-party providers to ensure delivery of service and keep abreast of developments and how they may impact or benefit the business, engaging in working groups, seminars, etc.
  • Project management for new enhancements, integrations, and business software - including solution design, producing spec / Business Requirements Document; recommending


Preferred Position Requirements:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a similar role with demonstrated experience of project management principles and practices.
  • Previous experience evaluating and deploying ERP solutions for a small/mid-size business
  • Knowledge of hosting and cloud-based application management
  • Experience with SASS ERP solutions such as NetSuite, MS Business Central or Epicor preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, MIS, or Business Management preferred

  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary.
