The Speech & Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing outpatient Speech Therapy services for Odom Rehab in an ethical and professional manner.

Speech Therapy services for Odom Rehab will be provided in accordance with each specific state guidelines.


The employee shall also perform (I) such other duties as are customarily performed by an employee in a similar position, and (II) such other and unrelated services and duties as may be assigned to the employee from time to time by Odom Rehab.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*_*The essential functions are a general description of responsibilities, duties and tasks that are expected of this position. It is not meant to be an all-encompassing list. Additional duties may be assigned as business or client needs dictate. *_

*Provide Speech Therapy Services*•Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with state guidelines.

  • Establish appropriate POC (Plans of Care) for the patients
  • Interpret speech and language test results, barium swallow results, or medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, cognitive, voice and/or swallowing disorders.
  • Write reports and maintain proper documentation of information, such as patient Medicaid or billing records or caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of patients.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as motor speech, impaired language, cognitive impairments, swallowing disorders, or voice problems, based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, therapy team members, or other health care professionals.
  • Administer speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written or oral tests or special instruments.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members about various topics, such as communication techniques or strategies to cope with or to avoid personal misunderstandings.
  • Collaborate with the therapy team.
  • Instruct patients in techniques for more effective communication or voice improvement.
  • Develop home programs.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities, such as coordinating paperwork, scheduling case management activities, or writing treatment plans.
  • Consult with and refer patients to additional medical or educational services such as audiology, ENT or GI.
  • Determine which devices may be most appropriate, program them, and train patients and caregivers on how to use them.
  • Track and complete Continuing Education Credits and renewal steps necessary to keep current on SLP licensure.
  • Maintain an active SLP license.

  • Recent / previous work experience in primary health care setting (preferred)

*WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

*Work Rating: Medium Work*_Medium work. _Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do medium work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary and light work.

As part of the new hire onboarding process OHW conducts background checks including a review of driving records for all employees required to drive in their position.

In order to be in good standing, you will need to maintain a satisfactory driving record. OHW will assess individual driving records to determine if a person meets OHW's driver safety requirements.

If an individual's driving record indicates a violation or combination of violations that are deemed excessive, OHW may discipline the employee up to and including termination of employment.
