Located in the heart of Washington, DC, our restaurant blends warm service, eclectic design, and bold flavors to create a destination for both locals and travelers alike.The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key leadership role in supporting the General Manager and driving the daily operations of Gypsy Kitchen. The AGM is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, food and beverage quality, and team engagement. This individual will help lead by example, fostering a culture of genuine connection, accountability, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Partner with the General Manager to oversee all front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction.Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers and hourly team members to deliver exceptional hospitality.Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management for FOH staff.Monitor financial performance including labor costs, beverage costs, and controllable expenses, helping drive profitability while maintaining brand standards.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations.Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and team members throughout service.Collaborate with the culinary and beverage teams to uphold quality and consistency across all menu offerings.Support the execution of private events, marketing initiatives, and community partnerships.Contribute to a positive work culture that reflects the warmth, energy, and authenticity of the Gypsy Kitchen brand.Qualifications:3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in an upscale or high-volume concept.Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Strong understanding of financial management and operational systems.Exceptional communication and organizational skills.A passion for hospitality, food, wine, and creating memorable guest experiences.Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.What We Offer:Competitive salary and bonus potentialHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offCareer growth opportunities within our restaurant groupA dynamic, fun, and team-oriented work environment
