Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive sanitation procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Establish effective cleaning and sanitization schedules across all plant areas to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Lead and supervise a sanitation team, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure protocol compliance.
  • Coordinate sanitation activities to minimize disruptions to production processes.
  • Conduct routine inspections to evaluate equipment, facilities, and production areas for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for sanitation process improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in sanitation practices.
  • Foster effective communication with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to address sanitation issues and coordinate activities.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement company-wide sanitation initiatives.
  • Ensure employees and managers receive necessary food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety training and development.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures, ensuring communication throughout the organization.
  • Support food safety and quality initiatives within the plant.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in sanitation management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying chemicals used in the cleaning process.
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing process and equipment parts/systems to ensure proper sanitization and efficient line start-ups.
  • Knowledge of GMP, SQF audits, FDA, PMO, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
