This individual would be responsible for understanding the scope of work, delegating tasks, providing mentorship and oversight for junior engineers on their team, leading meetings, reviewing engineering drawings and calculations, performing detailed engineering, communicating directly with the client, and following up with the Engineering Manager.


CCI is a consulting and engineering design firm specializing in projects for oil and gas, petrochemical, and process industries. Our office is in Lafayette, LA. We provide a variety of onshore and offshore services to our clients and have been in business since 1989. As a consulting firm, the work we do is challenging but rewarding. The variety of projects is widely regarded as a plus and provides a perfect opportunity for engineers to grow professionally.


Engineering responsibilities typically include:

  • An understanding of client, industry, regulatory, and other guidelines, codes, etc.
  • Developing scope of work for projects
  • Piping and facilities design and modifications (emphasis on production and midstream facilities)
  • Work with drafting & design staff to develop mechanical flow sheets, safe charts, area classification, safety, and equipment layouts
  • Hydraulic and stress analysis of piping systems
  • Vessel capacity and sizing calculations
  • Pump or compressor selection
  • Occasional field trips to complete surveys or collect information
  • Provide support to other engineering and project management staff


Candidate requirements:


  • Engineering degree from an accredited four-year university
  • A professional demeanor with good communication skills
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with facilities and/or process piping design (midstream, refinery & petrochemical facilities, or production facilities)
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Willingness to learn new subjects
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers on projects


The most qualified candidates would have project experience that includes two or more of the following (A qualified candidate does not have to know all of this)


  • Professional Engineering license with 5+ years of relevant experience in oil and gas-related or petrochemical facilities design
  • Experience with hydraulic systems or pipe stress analysis using relevant software such as AFT Impulse/AFT Arrow, BOSFluids, CAESAR II, etc.
  • Experience with Over Pressurization Protection (OPP) in gas systems such as PSV sizing, expansion calculations, flare and header simulation, etc
  • Process background with facility design, vessel sizing, flow calculations
  • Field experience in facilities or process engineering
