We are a culture that dreams big and embraces an entrepreneurial and ownership spirit - just like our business customers.Summary of Role:We are seeking an accomplished, results-driven Director of Strategic Customer Development to lead and inspire a team focused on managing, growing and retaining Capital One's largest Business Cards & Payments clients. As a leader of leaders, this individual will govern the strategy and enable Local Market Leaders to drive revenue growth, maximize purchase volume, and ensure exceptional backbook retention within our highest-spending customer segment.Core Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a team of experienced Local Market LeadersFoster a culture of personalized, strategic account managementEstablish portfolio growth goals (purchase volume, product adoption, profitability, etc.) and ensure SCDMs create and execute plans to meet or exceed these targetsServe as the accountable executive and point of escalation for complex or high-value customer relationshipsChampion a customer-centric culture that leverages customer feedback and market intelligence to influence internal strategiesLiaison between the Strategic Customer Development team and cross-functional partners, including Product, Field Strategy, and CML BankGovern the process for gathering and delivering critical insights regarding customer friction points, competitor activity, and product gapsEnsure all account management and retention activities are executed in accordance with Capital One's compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelinesPrepare and deliver regular financial and performance updates to senior leadershipLead and manage a team of remote workersSkills and Competencies:Strategic: the candidate will have a proven track record of making holistic assessments of our current state, defining an end state vision, and articulating the path to get there.Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills: impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.Strong judgment, leadership and integrity: the candidate should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a responsible approach to business while in a leadership position guiding execution resources.Clear results orientation: focused on achieving both short and long-term goals. They should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment while overseeing multiple projects and programs concurrently.Successful track record managing Field teams, including recruiting, training, and coaching.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 5 years of experience in sales or customer development as an individual contributorAt least 3 years of leadership experience in sales or customer developmentPreferred Qualifications:MBA DegreeAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Remote (Regardless of Location): $168,000 - $191,700 for Director, Inside SalesRichmond, VA: $168,000 - $191,700 for Director, Inside SalesCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
