Come work for Rockford family Law, a small firm with offices in both Rockford, and near Freeport. I am looking to hire a part-time, or full-time Paralegal; compensation commensurate with experience. 

 

Responsibilities:

·       Investigate and gather the facts of a case.

·       Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.

·       Write or summarize reports to help lawyers prepare for trial.

·       Draft correspondence and legal documents.

·       Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court.

·       Help attorney prepare for trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts.

·       Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions.


Qualifications:

·       Paralegal Certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree

·       1-3 years experience required.

·       Detail-oriented and highly organized.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor.

·       Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.

·       Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and keep deadlines.

·       Candidates must understand legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.

·       Open to full-time or part-time applicants. Must be serious about wanting the job and reliable.

·      Must be willing to work at the office in Rockford, IL (Winnebago Co), or Davis, IL (Stephenson Co).
