The Grand 1894 Opera House is seeking applicants for an on-sight, in person, Box Office Manager in downtown Galveston. This position is full-time, year-round and provides benefits. Staff hours will include frequent evening and weekend shifts during theatre events, hours that will not exceed a staff member’s full-time workload.
The Box Office Manager is responsible for managing daily box office operations and live event ticketing for The Grand, working with promoters to sell season and single event tickets. Using ticketing systems like AudienceView Unlimited to build, scale, and sell tickets to entertainment and performing arts events, the ideal candidate also has experience preparing financial reconciliations and event settlements; training, and supervising box office staff. The Box Office Manager must demonstrate a high level of customer service for patrons and internal clients.
The Box Office Manager provides leadership to create and realize annual and long-term customer service and financial plans as approved by The Grand management. Ticketing Services has a staff of 3 full-time and 1 part-time employees. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of The Grand. Ticketing Services sells over 30,000 tickets a year for over 75 events and provides exceptional service.
