Research in my laboratory is focused on understanding the mechanisms of cardiovascular development, disease, and regeneration.
You can read our recent paper on JCI (PMID: 29337306) and Circ Res (PMID: 35722872) and Nature Communications (PMID: 38755146). In particular, we are interested in identifying the novel signaling pathways that regulate myocardial development or govern cardiomyocyte differentiation and maturation by using in vitro and in vivo approaches.
About the Role
Cell and mouse model systems, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and conditional gene knockouts will be used in these research projects. Many state-of-the-art techniques are employed, such as CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing, AAV, single cell RNA-Seq and ChIP Seq, confocal microscopy, multicolor flow and sorting, surgical models, ultrasonic and telemetric measurements of cardiovascular function in mice.
Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in molecular biology, mouse genetics or generation of cardiac surgical models in mice. We are seeking talented and self-motivated postdoctoral candidates with a good work ethic, and a strong interest in cardiovascular development and regeneration.
Candidates with background and experience in developmental biology using mouse models, iPSCs, or generation of cardiac surgical mouse models are preferred.
