GlobalSource IT is collaborating with a direct client in Oak Brook, IL to identify an experienced Data Architect for a key role within their data product team. The Data Architect will be responsible for developing or optimizing data models, conducting capacity tests, designing schemas and dimensions, and offering expert recommendations on data structures as needed.


We are looking for a candidate with over 10 years of experience in Data Architecture and Modeling, particularly with a strong command of Azure services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with tools such as Erwin/Logic Works, Azure Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, and PowerBI.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm and document business requirements, translating them into actionable projects for the data team.
  • Design, develop, and test data models, schemas, dimensions, and data structures.
  • Conduct capacity testing and provide recommendations for data structure optimization.
  • Offer hands-on advisory support to the data team in the development and maintenance of data solutions.
  • Work with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and assist in the development of a platinum layer, which will be a tailored platform for a specific business unit, including the creation of one fact table and multiple dimensions.


Technical Expertise Required

  • Over 10 years of experience in Data Architecture and Data Modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure services, including Azure Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, and PowerBI.
  • Expertise in Data Modeling using tools like Erwin/Logic Works.
  • Experience in developing and testing Dimensions, Schemas, and Data Structures.
  • Familiarity with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and experience in building custom platinum layers on top of existing data structures.
