A client of The Intersect Group is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and availability of the client's services. They will lead a team of offshore SREs, collaborate across engineering and operations teams, and spearhead initiatives to enhance infrastructure and incident response practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage team priorities and resources, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage system monitoring and triage of product support issues.
- Implement automation and CICD that support product lines.
- Respond and resolve any issues as they arrive within an application architecture environment ranging from P1 (client impact) to internal user groups.
- Oversee the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and services.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and address potential issues proactively.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, deploy, and support scalable and resilient systems.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement based on lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities for automation to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain tools and scripts to support operational tasks and improve system reliability.
- Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Refine incident management processes and documentation to improve response times and reduce recurrence.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a lead role, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams, particularly ones that are offshore.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex systems and services in a high-availability environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Cloud) and container orchestration technologies (Docker).
- Expertise in monitoring and logging tools (Mongo DB, New Relic, ).
- Experience in Node.js
