Concrete FinisherA Concrete Finisher places and finishes surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut expansion joints.Primary ResponsibilitiesSet and align concrete forms to desired grade and depthSignal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete in forms, and guides hose on concrete pump truckScreed, level, vibrate and finish concrete, using rake, shovel, power vibrator, hand, power trowel/riding trowel, hand or power screed, and floatPlace control joints and finish edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedgeProduce rough concrete surface, using broomInstall anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete and/or pattern or stamp surface to provide a decorative finishMonitor environmental variables during concrete curing; take adequate measures to protect concreteLayout joints and saw-cut as prescribed in specificationsChip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
