Outside Packaging Sales Representative- Job Description


As an Outside Sales Representative for Paper Mart, you will play a critical role in driving our company's growth and success. The ideal candidate will possess extensive consultative sales experience, a deep understanding of all types of packaging solutions, food/shipping supplies, office products, Jan-San, and retail bags and a track record of exceeding sales targets. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new prospects, maintaining relationships with your clients, and delivering tailored solutions to meet the customer’s specific needs.


Key Responsibilities


Client Relationship Management:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation- Cold calling is an essential aspect of this role. Proactively reach out to potential clients to introduce our products and services, initiate meaningful conversations and nurture relationships to drive sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients in the assigned territory.
  • Understand clients' business requirements and challenges to provide customized solutions.

Consultative Sales:

  • Employ a consultative sales approach to understand client needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative packaging technologies to offer cutting-edge solutions.

Sales Targets:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals through effective prospecting and sales strategies.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential clients and manage the sales process from initial contact to closure.

Product Knowledge:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the company's products and services.
  • Provide expert guidance on product selection, customization, and usage.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in industrial packaging products and services.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitors.
  • Provide insights to management on market developments and opportunities.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, both in-person and digitally.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales related expenses. Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and forecasts.

Location:

  • Candidate must live in Los Angeles.
  • The candidate will cover LA/City of Industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in sales and marketing, preferably within packaging.
  • Proven track record of successful sales in the packaging industry or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Reliable transportation for customer visits in the assigned territory.
