OPPORTUNITY
BLACKSHEEP is seeking an experienced and motivated, full time Electrical Engineer (PE) who can lead some of our largest power and advanced energy projects. This position will require a personable candidate with experience in all aspects of the electrical design process, including planning, design modeling, specification, project management, and construction support. A solid understanding of solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train and educate the right individual who demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.
The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and will be expected to carry the following responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and document electrical systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, and institutional projects using Autodesk Revit software. Candidate should have experience with the following:
- Low voltage power distribution. Experience with medium voltage power distribution is a plus.
- Standby and emergency power systems
- Advanced energy systems including solar PV, battery storage, and energy management technology.
- Electrical grounding, branch circuit and feeder calculations, equipment specifications
- Design of lighting (including controls) systems and fire alarm systems. Experience with low-voltage systems is a plus.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering consultants to integrate electrical systems with the architectural design and other building systems.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in electrical technologies and sustainable design practices.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to the team.
- May participate in site visits during construction for troubleshooting and coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Professional Engineer. MN, MT, WY, CO, TX, FL, CA, and / or WA license preferred.
- 8+ years design experience
- Experience in solar / battery design is a plus.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards.
- Proficient in electrical design software (Autodesk Revit)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
