DVS is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the corporate team in Vienna, VA with a hybrid work schedule (in the office Tuesday through Thursday; remote Monday and Friday).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive corporate finance support across multiple business units and contracts within the IT Services Government Contracting sector.
  • Conduct monthly forecasting, including actual to budget and forecast to budget analyses.
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) during the monthly closing process, accounting for all revenue and costs.
  • Apply and understand indirect rates within the context of government contracting.
  • Perform ad hoc program Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge and exposure to Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements and GAAP standards.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, particularly within IT Services Government Contracting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in creating, managing, and adjusting budgets for multiple projects or departments, developing accurate financial forecasts and projections.
  • Financial Modeling: Proficiency in building and using complex financial models to simulate various business scenarios.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, enhancing forecast accuracy.
  • Contract and Cost Analysis: Understanding of different contract types and their implications for financial forecasting.
  • Revenue Recognition and GAAP Compliance: Knowledge of GAAP and experience in ensuring compliance.
  • Indirect Rate Application: Familiarity with the application of indirect cost rates in government contracting.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software such as Deltek Costpoint and Cognos.
  • Experience with Regulatory Agencies: Exposure to working with regulatory agencies like the DCAA.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to follow through on tasks.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a remote team.

  • Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language

  • Strong organizational, grammar, business correspondence, and self-management skills
