Construction Project Manager I

Construction Project Manager IMortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager I to join our Solar group and lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills. Most projects have an estimated duration of a year while others may last longer. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.ResponsibilitiesManage overall financial health of projectsSupport and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedulesLead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliersDevelop and maintain project financial and equipment projectionsAllocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoicesProvide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billingsManage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partnersHandle billings, contract management, and change ordersManage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedbackQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experienceMinimum six years of related previous experienceUtility scale solar project experience preferredSelf-perform experience preferredProven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projectsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesPreference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologiesMicrosoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesCurrent driver's licenseA few benefits offered include: Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage, dental plan, 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match, paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves, employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance, no-cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, gym membership discount program.The base pay range for this role is $110,700 MIN - $166,100 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
