What you will be doing:
As an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Engineer/ OBD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing the design and implementation of control strategies for various sub-systems of natural gas engines. You will assist Sr. OBD Manager to run test cells, collect and analyze data, quantify the level of failed/ limit parts for various OBD Monitors, etc. Effective communication and attention to details is key, as you will be responsible for presenting OBD status both internally and externally as required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement OBD control strategies for various sub-systems of natural gas engines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of control strategies aligns with overall product objectives.
- Design experiments in engine test cells to evaluate control strategies and performance.
- Work closely with the Sr. OBD Manager to collect relevant data and conduct thorough analysis.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine and optimize control strategies.
- Present progress updates, findings, and recommendations to internal leadership on a regular basis.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Prior experience within automotive industry specifically related to Heavy Duty OBD.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, MATLAB/Simulink analysis, and statistical methods.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards is preferred.
