Reporting to the Senior Director of HR, with a dotted-line to the President of the business, the Human Resources Manager will provide a broad range of HR Generalist support to the West Coast facilities of this national company. This role is responsible for recruiting, talent management, compensation, payroll and benefits administration, engagement, and safety with an emphasis on state and local compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Provide California site-level HR support in all generalist matters. Investigate employee issues and conflicts as well as bring them to resolution.
  • Recruiting: Manage the staffing process, including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding at a local level.
  • Compliance: Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and that HR policies are applied consistently.
  • Compensation: In partnership with the Senior HR Director, help create and maintain a national compensation strategy for all employees based on market research & pay surveys.
  • Performance Management: Partner with management to ensure employee goals are aligned with business initiatives while also administering the annual performance and compensation processes.
  • Systems and Payroll Processing: Maintain HR systems and processes and provide payroll administration.
  • Retention: Design and implement employee retention strategies.
  • Collaboration: Provide support and guidance to HR staff.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; SPHR certification a plus.
  • 8-12 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role with proven results building and implementing an array of HR processes and programs; driving compliance and fostering the employee experience.
  • Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized firm supporting both corporate and manufacturing or distribution employees; e-commerce/digital experience a plus.
  • Must have experience in payroll administration. Experience with ADP or similar system.
  • A results-oriented, hands-on professional focused on delivering strong work product and driving engagement.
  • A strong, transparent communicator with collaboration and influencing skills who can work through the complexities of a fast-paced, high-growth business.
  • Experience working in a high-growth environment.
