Building Estimator

DESCRIPTION:
- All disciplines or MEP estimation with general knowledge of all building elements
- Coordinate and communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
- At least 6 years of experience in construction of major facility renovation, addition and integration
- Takeoffs using electronic and manual tabs. Production rate verification, quotes, pre-established industry standard means, overhead, job production and time constraints
- Review pre-construction estimates. Review and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Change Control evaluation, estimation, validation of CM/GC proposals and negotiation
- Manage and resolve estimating issues or conflicts that arise during construction
- May conduct site visits to inspect work quality and progress
- Prepare regular reports on project status and updates. Maintenance of Change Request Log
- Contractor Change and Claims Request evaluation
- Bid/proposal evaluation, negotiation and documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified or graduate of academic estimation program, Construction Management, Engineering or Business Administration. Or, long-term experience as an estimator and/or certification in Cost Estimating and Control
- Experience in operating large facility renovation ($100s of millions)
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., ProCore, Primavera), on-screen takeoffs applications (e.g. Bluebeam, Revu, RS Means), knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft applications
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
- CM/GC construction delivery
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Reconciliation and contingency management
- A good understanding of industry standards, design intent, and cooperative and leadership relations with the Contractors' field and office personnel.
