Venteon is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Brighton, MI

Requirements of the Controls Engineer

  • Experience with 2D AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical a must. Knowledge of EPLAN is a plus.
  • • Strong familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs and HMIs. Other PLC, HMI, operating systems are a plus (Mitsubishi, Omron, Modicon/Telemecanique).
  • • Familiarity with various drives, robots, welding systems, adhesive dispensing and other current relevant technologies.
  • • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in controls systems engineering preferred.
  • • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • • Robot Programming experience is valued. Our common platforms include, but not limited to ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa/Motoman, Nachi, etc.
  • • Must be willing to travel approximately 30% in locally and in North America, including Canada and Mexico.

Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer

  • Responsible for hardware and software design including electrical, pneumatic, PLC, HMI, Drives, etc. for automation systems.
  • • Develop Bills of material for electrical designs as well as update them to reflect any changes
  • • Coordinate with project management to ensure that all drawings, bill of materials, manuals, sequence of operation, and PLC, HMI programs, etc. are kept current and correct.
  • • Attend project kick off meetings including internal and external kick offs, lessons learned meetings, project status meetings, etc.
  • • Develop and review electrical and fluid drawings, schematics, manuals.
  • • Design of PLC Software programs and develop HMI screens to customer specifications.
  • • Provide product improvement suggestions and customer feedback to project management.
