Job Description:

As the Team Lead - Architecture, you will be at the forefront of our technical vision, guiding the architecture and design of complex web applications and systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the company’s business objectives. Your role will involve overseeing the technical direction of projects, mentoring a team of developers, and ensuring adherence to best practices in software architecture.

Initially, this role will be remote, but there may be occasional requirements to work onsite for team-building activities and strategic planning sessions. This position is contract-to-hire, providing an opportunity to transition to a full-time role based on performance and mutual agreement.


Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership: Define, develop, and communicate the architectural vision for projects. Ensure the architecture is scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee the full development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Code Quality: Ensure high-quality code through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies, and integrate them into the architectural vision where appropriate.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and architectural challenges early in the development process and devise strategies to mitigate them.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, ensuring that it is accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure that all applications and systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the development team, focusing on processes, tools, and technical debt reduction.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent work experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focusing on software architecture.


Technical Expertise:

  • Strong experience in both front-end and back-end development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js, .NET, Java, Python, and others.
  • Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and third-party integrations.
  • Proficiency with databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and version control (Git).
  • Architectural Skills: Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. Experience with microservices, SOA, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to think strategically.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
