We are looking to add a Senior Investment Analyst to the investment team in our Atlanta, GA office, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer of Private Markets. As a Senior Investment Analyst, you will play a significant role in sourcing, evaluating, analyzing, and managing private market investments, with a particular focus on debt and equity opportunities within commercial real estate. 

 

This position requires strong communication skills, a curious and investigative mindset, and a fundamental understanding of real estate as an asset class. Your expertise will be essential in providing strategic insights and recommendations to optimize portfolio performance and achieve investment objectives. A successful candidate will have experience analyzing and applying judgment as to the merits of individual projects. 

 

In this role you will also participate in broader portfolio decisions that extend beyond real estate and gain exposure to the entire breadth of the Waverly investment platform, of which real estate is only one component.  

 

 

Senior Investment Analyst Responsibilities: 

 

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of real estate investment opportunities, including market research, financial modeling, and risk assessment.  
  • Perform manager due diligence on alternative investments, such as real estate and private credit, including writing memos and presenting new ideas to the Investment Committee.  
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, providing periodic updates and reports to stakeholders.  
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact investment strategies. 
  • Defend investment recommendations and engage in critical analysis alongside the research team and Investment Committee.  
  • Assist in the creation and design of materials used to communicate effectively with clients and advisors across a variety of channels. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in investment analysis, preferably within real estate or private markets.  
  • Demonstrable experience running a due diligence process on real estate or private fund investment opportunities.  
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret intricate financial data.  
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and analysis to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of work. 
  • A desire to grow your network.   
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, Bloomberg, and real estate valuation platforms.  

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience working in financial services. 
  • Real Estate expertise a plus. 

 

 

 

Travel: 

 

  • Moderate travel is required. 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
