JMC2 is seeking a Project Engineer who understands the need for client satisfaction and the benefit to maintaining quality control and timely delivery for of our structural engineering projects.  He/she will apply broad knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in development of calculations, reports, and construction documents. The PE will work independently to evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria. Works closely with the management and Project Managers to prepare project documents solving complex engineering problems and coordinating with our CAD team.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  1. Completes engineering projects and tasks to the satisfaction of the Project Managers and clients

Measure:    Projects are being completed in a timely, coordinated, and complete manner.

  1. Provides accurate and professional structural engineering calculations, reports, and details

Measure:    Structural engineering calculations, reports, and details are neat, legible, appropriate, and pass plan check in a timely manner. Stamps and signs calculations, reports, and plans when in responsible charge.

  1. Understands project budgets to ensure alignment with company goals

Measure:    Project budgets are being met.

  1. Resolves client disputes for engineering projects to ensure overall client satisfaction

Measure:    There are no customer defections due to his/her work performance.

  1. Responsible for engineering projects

Measure:    New engineering contracts are being quickly and accurately processed. Project are profitable and to the client’s satisfaction. In responsible charge of their engineering projects and stamps & signs all engineering plans and calculations under their responsible charge.

  1. Work oriented towards results. Handle heavy workloads and drive teams under tight deadlines.

Measure: Take ownership of assignment/project results with minimal assistance from upper management. JMC2’s work products are being processed and approved with minimal delays or plan check corrections.

  1. Confirm that the correct design and specification standards are being used

Measure:    All projects are being submitted and processed in accordance with each governing agencies’ latest adopted standards and technical specifications.

Skills (min.):

·       Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (civil preferred)

·       Experience: 5+ years

·       Industry Experience: Structural engineering design in Southern California

·       Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (CA Civil)
