  • Oversight of percentage of completion accounting process.
  • Maintain active job schedule.
  • Collect and analyze data about company's operational costs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of costs for all product lines and services.
  • Hold monthly job/project reviews with Project Managers.
  • Participate in setting standard costs of materials.
  • Develop and analyze cost standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Prepare audit reports and present findings to management including but not limited to:
  • Job profitability/margins.
  • Job percentage of completion.
  • Work in Process.
  • Amount of back logged work.
  • Costs associated with "internal" jobs.
  • Costs associated with research and development.
  • Closed jobs.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators.
  • Comparison of standard to actual costs.
  • Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit.
  • Support other company accountants with costing/expense information and analysis.
  • Close jobs in Vista platform when complete.
  • Track and analyze variances across products, services, regions, markets, and departments.
  • Record journal entries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team to develop margin targets and financial forecasts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product pricing including pricing tiers.
  • Ensure accurate classification of expenses under GAAP.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Clocks in and out for activities throughout the day in Pierson Wireless' project management cloud solution.
  • Properly documents work performed in Pierson Wireless' project management cloud solution.
  • Weekend and night work occasionally required if tight timeframes come up.
  • Provides support to other team members and staff as needed.
  • Operate company provided equipment and vehicles in a safe manner and follow all local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Submits all receipts and expense records.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures as identified in the Pierson Wireless handbook.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position does not currently hold any supervisory responsibilities but will require interaction within the department and with those outside the department (including Leadership Team) and company .
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job has limited decision-making responsibilities .

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Required Education : Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
  • Minimum Required Experience : 3+ Years
  • Desirable Education/Experience : Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting or finance.
  • AccountEdge and/or Vista software experience preferred but not required.
  • Construction and/or manufacturing accounting experience required.

Technical Competencies:
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to create formulas in MS Excel; run queries in company software applications.
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, Xlookups, Vlookups) .
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
