I am working with a real estate firm in the area looking to hire a Senior Accountant. Some of the responsibilities include:
- Maintain the property reporting schedule
- Responsible for balance sheet analysis, asset and property management reporting
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of all lease-related financial transactions, including rental payments, lease incentives, security deposits, and other relevant financial data
- Responsible for all financial and compliance reporting for assigned properties
- Oversee the administration and management of lease agreements, including lease abstracts, lease renewals, terminations, and lease amendments
- Manage cash flow analysis; and various ad hoc reports.
- Involved with budgeting/forecasting
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Administer accounts payable, cash management, and debt service payment functions
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner and Invoice/GL coding approvals
- Conduct thorough financial analysis and lease reconciliations
- Assist with preparing tax returns and annual budgets
- Prepare ownership level journal entries
- Record and maintain fixed asset purchases and depreciation/amortization schedules
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during lease audits to provide accurate and organized documentation, financial records, and required supporting documentation
- Analyze contracts to apply appropriate accounting methods and record appropriate expenses on a monthly basis
- Ensure GAAP are being adhered to appropriately
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and system implementations to streamline lease accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure data integrity
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of best practices and internal controls;
- review operating agreements and management agreements to ensure on-going compliance
- stay updated on relevant accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements.
Qualifications include:
- 3+ years of real estate accounting experience
- BS in Accounting
- Strong tenure in positions held
