Sr. Project Accountant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct thorough cost analyses for project resources to provide accurate budgeting insights that enhance cost control and promote efficient project execution.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and relevant standards.
- Regularly review project budgets to track progress and flag any variances from financial targets or timelines.
- Develop and implement effective accounting controls and standardized procedures to ensure precise financial reporting, optimize workflows, and mitigate organizational risk.
- Provide essential support during annual audits by preparing schedules, reconciling data, and responding to auditor inquiries to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across departments to promote transparency, facilitate process improvements, and support broader organizational initiatives.
- Engage in special projects that align with company growth and compliance, including grant budget management, analysis of funding sources, and preparation of quarterly compliance reports for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Other duties that may arise from time-to-time and/or are commensurate with the title and position.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in project-based accounting required.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively in team settings.
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in various environments.
- Strong decision-making and judgment abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Flexible schedule to include late afternoon and evening hours and Overtime and weekends as needed to provide support for safety emergencies or incidents that occur after hours or on weekends.
- Must be willing to travel as required by company needs.
