POSITION DETAILS:
This position works 40 Weeks per year, 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. Annually, the position begins approximately one day before school begins and ends on the last day of school.
The position will begin on or around 1/16/25.

The hourly rate for a current EVSC paraprofessional will be based on years of service with EVSC in a paraprofessional role. Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1.BENEFITS:EVSC offers four Anthem medical insurance plans. Single medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 30-day probationary period.
Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSC Health & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member. This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.
Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.
EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous office experience preferred. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:This position is based upon student enrollment in this school building. Fluctuating student enrollment may make it necessary to move an employee to another school building or reduction in hours. Enrollment is evaluated at the start of a new school year. The EVSC works diligently to ensure employees maintain the position that they are hired for but in some cases, transfers may occur in order to effectively serve EVSC students.
SUMMARY:
Performs minor office duties and supervises students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide support to the office staff by answering questions from visitors, answering the phone and supervising students.
- Utilize EVSC's AS400 system to obtain student information.
- Perform general office duties.
- Enter student attendance.
- Create documents, materials and copies for staff. Utilizes standard office equipment, computers and related software.
- Supervise students during lunch and recess duty.
- Work closely with the faculty and staff.
- Present a pleasant, helpful attitude toward staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Maintain regular attendance.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate computers and related software including Microsoft and Google systems.
- Ability to develop working relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation policies and state requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Office experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from teachers and administrators and documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to write correspondence clearly and concisely and using correct grammar.
- Ability to speak effectively to staff and students using correct grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
