Job Summary:

The Electronics Technician will perform a wide range of technical efforts including testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic equipment. The role involves working with limited supervision and requires the technician to follow approved procedures, schematics, and verbal instructions to resolve technical challenges. The technician will troubleshoot electronic assemblies to the component level, including those with Analog, Digital, RF, and High Voltage circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies, including Analog, Digital, RF, and High Voltage circuits.

Work directly from approved procedures, schematics, and verbal instructions to execute technical tasks.

Use engineering drawings, manuals, and other related documentation to guide testing and repairs.

Troubleshoot and repair moderately complex electronic assemblies to the component level.

Analyze, observe, and report test data effectively.

Generate failure entries that correlate failure modes to associated test specifications.

Communicate technical issues clearly to colleagues with varied electronic backgrounds.

Required Skills:

3-6 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic circuitry.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Proficient in troubleshooting electronic equipment down to the component level.

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.

Effective communication skills for articulating technical issues both verbally and in written form.

Desired Skills:

Experience with High Voltage, Digital, and other electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and Power Meters.

Strong understanding of depot-based electronic repair work.

Familiarity with testing areas such as Insertion Loss, VSWR, Phase, gain, amplifiers, crystal detectors, analog to digital conversion, and frequency bands (S-band, L-band, X-band).

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

2-year electronics/STEM degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Ability to work independently with limited supervision and follow technical instructions effectively.

Strong attention to detail in performing tests and troubleshooting electronic systems.
