Job Description & Requirements Specialty: MRI Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 01/19/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist for night shifts, requiring ARRT(R), ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, and at least 1 year of MRI experience. Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based MRI department serving ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient populations Handles 30-40 patients per day including neuro, cardiac, pediatric (with and without anesthesia), and device-dependent cases No floating required 12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM Position is for all weekends with a four-week schedule cycle No on-call or call-back required Use of Epic EMR, Epic Radiant RIS, and Philips iSite PACS Operates GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450W and Siemens 3T Skyra MRI units Will perform and manage MRI exams from order verification through completion of dictated results Care for a large population of medical device patients including those needing anesthesia Expected to prepare and administer IV contrast as needed according to protocols Support includes guest services, transport staff, and tech assistant available overnight Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding and up to 1 week of departmental training as needed Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays Black scrubs required Free parking available Department supports a trauma level III, teaching hospital environment First-time travelers will be considered Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from home unit Requirements Minimum of 1 year recent MRI technologist experience Current ARRT(R) or NMTCB and either ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification required BLS certification required License required if applicable Experience with electronic medical records, specifically Epic, preferred Must provide at least one professional reference from a supervisor or higher dated within the last year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-654060.
