Collection Agent

We are currently seeking a motivated Collections Specialist with a preference for candidates with a physician or medical industry background to join our Patient Financial Services team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the revenue cycle management process and ensure the financial health of our organization.

Position Overview: As a Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing revenue cycle performance by effectively managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a background in healthcare, preferably with experience in physician billing or medical office operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and a deep understanding of revenue cycle management principles.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or collections, with a preference for candidates with a physician or medical industry background.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance claim processing.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, payers, and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to resolving outstanding balances.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing systems and electronic health records (EHR) software preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing healthcare billing and collections practices.
