A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field; At least 3-10 years relevant experience for an Associate Engineer and 10+ years of relevant experience for a Senior engineer.License/Certificate/Registration Requirements:Driver‘s License: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of appointment. Under general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer performs a wide variety of technical field and office engineering work associated with various activities, programs and facilities. Responsible for all mechanical design and engineering support associated with the installation, modification, maintenance and testing of mechanical systems and equipment associated with Authority facilities. Coordinates major mechanical repairs, modifications, or testing with various government agencies, Member Agencies, and divisions within the Authority. The total potential combined contributions for the 401(a) and the 457 plans by the Authority may amount to a maximum of 13% of your gross base annual salary. All contributions under both plans vest immediately to you.

NOTE: You should be aware that the Authority does not participate in Social Security. This may affect Social Security benefits you have already earned upon retirement.
