This role is integral to the site leadership team and ensures employee engagement and regulatory compliance in line with the Operational Excellence Management System.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure adherence to all Federal, State, Local, and Internal regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with corporate EHSQ Program Managers for expert guidance when necessary.
  • Lead EHSQ initiatives at the assigned facility.
  • Manage and supervise EHS specialists as direct reports.
  • Oversee the quality laboratory technicians administratively.
  • Identify and address potential hazards or compliance issues.
  • Conduct job hazard assessments and incident investigations.
  • Support the completion of site-specific corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) processes align with OEMS standards.
  • Coordinate and support corporate compliance programs.
  • Track and manage environmental, health, and safety training.
  • Oversee regulated and hazardous waste management at the site.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Advanced Degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and EPA regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with EHS-related ISO systems and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Capability to manage a mix of salaried, hourly, and professional staff.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates confidence, positivity, and strong organizational skills.
  • Highly trustworthy, organized, and adept at implementing systems.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours and travel for short periods as needed.
