We are seeking a Staff Engineer (CMT Materials Engineer) to join our Oakland, CA team Come join us



Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:


The Field Staff Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of field and laboratory tests on construction materials, including steel, concrete, coatings, windows and other building materials/building systems. The Field Engineer will work closely with clients, design professionals, project managers, and other construction professionals.

  • Field Testing & Inspections:
  • Conduct specialty field tests such as floor flatness, GPR scanning, load testing, instrumentations
  • Perform as-built surveys, documentation and assessment of deterioration of structural components
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment and other field instruments.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Record and document observations and test results accurately.
  • Prepare summary reports, documenting test results, observations, and evaluations.


Minimum requirements:

  • BS Civil Engineering, PE preferred
  • Technical background related to construction industry
  • Experience as leader is preferred
  • Safety conscience
  • Proficient with computer programs; excel, Bluebeam, CAD desired

Technical requirements:

  • Skilled working with tools and lab equipment
  • Good project management and report writing skills necessary
  • Familiarity with ASTM test procedures

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Able and eager to learn new skills
  • Ability to work in a high paced work environment


Compensation:


$40 - $49 hourly


The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
