Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Virtualization Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and from our SW Houston office. As a Senior Virtualization Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing complex IT systems for our clients. You will also serve as a technical leader and mentor for junior team members.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage client IT infrastructures, including servers, storage, networks, and security systems.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and develop tailored IT solutions.
  • Conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of client systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in system engineering or a related role, within an MSP environment.
  • 3-5 years of administration experience with VMware Horizon (now Omnissa) Infrastructure
  • Experience with large-scale virtualization clusters with hundreds of VMs per cluster
  • 3-5 years of experience with physical and virtual switch/router/firewall components (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Passionate customer service mindset built on the need to exceed customer expectations.
  • 3-5 years of strong, hands-on experience in hardware and Microsoft Server OS management in a networked environment.
  • Experience with email filtering applications like Sophos, Mimecast, or Microsoft.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor project team members and other System Administrators.
