Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to provide services to various departments and internal applications. The job calls for a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator with significant verifiable technical knowledge, skills, & abilities to support for various database environments, including those implemented on Mainframe, but will also include cloud, and Linux, Unix, Windows (LUW). The position must possess the knowledge & skills necessary to work independently, but also the abilities & mindset to function effectively as part of a highly skilled team.

This position is currently eligible for full-time remote work

An employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT related experience in database administration.


Experience must include:

• z/OS mainframe

• Db2 DBA on z/OS (mainframe) version 11, 12, or 13

• Scripting

• Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

• A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.


Preferred Qualifications

• Supporting Database in Mainframe, cloud environment including AWS or Azure.

• z/os System Programming experience supporting Database

• Database & SQL Tuning

• DB2 driver, JDBC, distributed tools support

• Physical Database Design - OLTP, OLAP

• Encryption

• ETL (Extract / Transform / Load)
