Job Title: Senior Buyer

Location: Jersey City, NJ


Job Responsibilities:

  • Purchase merchandise and/or commodities for resale, ensuring optimal quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Solicit quotations from vendors and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Engage in price negotiations with vendors, leveraging market insights and conducting forecasting activities to manage inventories effectively.
  • Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently, while overseeing annual inventory processes.
  • Utilize analytical problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges and optimize purchasing strategies.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills in collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment by efficiently managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines with precise results.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in order processing systems and familiarity with database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience in buying RICE would be a plus.
