Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor to join our dynamic team. As a surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of heavy highway construction projects. You will be responsible for conducting precise measurements and providing accurate data to ensure the successful implementation of construction plans and adherence to project specifications.


Job Description

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Layout of curbs, structures, drainage, basins, utilities and edge of pavements, including grade calculations.
  • Assist with gathering as-built (record survey) data when required.
  • Conduct existing condition surveys.
  • Resolve technical problems and assist with training field employees on GPS equipment.
  • Establish GPS Control / calibrations for field operations.
  • Setup and maintain GPS equipment for field operations, including machine controls.
  • Work closely with field and office personnel.

Skills Required

  • 3 years + experience jobsite layout staking.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications
  • Experience using GPS and robotic surveying technologies, methods, and software.
  • Proficiency with Trimble (preferred) construction layout software and equipment
  • Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 8-12 hours a day.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • ​ Associate degree (preferred) related to surveying

Additional Requirements

  • Client is only interested in candidates who have done surveying for strictly construction projects.
