Job Overview

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Athena Intelligence, you'll be at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and real-world enterprise challenges. You'll work directly with our clients to implement Olympus and Athena, by engineering at the edge — our core engineering philosophy.


Engineering at the Edge


At Athena Intelligence, we believe in engineering at the edge, where Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) build the first version of any product in close collaboration with a single customer. This approach allows us to rapidly iterate and validate our solutions in real-world environments, providing crucial insights that shape our product development. As adoption grows, we integrate this into our core product and deploy it across our fleet, making the FDE role the cornerstone of our product strategy and the primary source of actionable intelligence for our product team.


Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and operational environments
  • Design and implement solutions using Olympus and Athena to address client needs
  • Integrate our AI technologies into existing enterprise systems and workflows
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as a technical liaison between Athena Intelligence and our partners
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our core products based on field experiences and client feedback
  • Lead training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure successful adoption of our technologies


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, or a similar technical role
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, Javascript, or similar languages
  • Experience with data analysis, machine learning, or AI technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (flexible based on project needs)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise software deployment or consulting
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms or business intelligence tools
  • Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment in production environments
  • Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)

Location

This position is based in our New York City office. Athena Intelligence is a fully in-person and in-office team, working 5 days a week in the office. We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and maintaining a strong team culture through daily in-person interactions. The office is located in the heart of Manhattan allowing our team access to some of New York’s best cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner
