Role Summary:

The selected candidate will take charge of planning, managing, and executing engineering improvement projects aimed at enhancing the engineering quality delivered to clients. This pivotal role requires seamlessly integrating engineering processes, systems, and resources to meet and exceed performance goals. The successful applicant will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of power industry design, construction practices, standards, and processes. Independent judgment, superior verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision within a supportive team environment are essential.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Spearhead rapid-response special projects, conducting comprehensive data gathering, stakeholder meetings, and development of reports.
  • Conduct detailed project audits at various design stages, evaluating project scope documents, identifying risks, and formulating responsive action plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, managing the information system for tracking improvement opportunities, and resolving project barriers.
  • Undertake high-impact issue investigations, performing root cause analyses to propel continuous quality advancements.
  • Generate and disseminate reports to communicate performance metrics and project statuses, identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.
  • Initiate and define projects, ensuring meticulous project planning, scope clarification, and execution efficiency.


Key Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited curriculum.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant industry experience, with at least two years dedicated to managing design or construction projects independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with a medium to long-term focus, solving complex issues autonomously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to build impactful relationships with clients, peers, and industry contacts.
  • Willing and able to travel within the Northern Indiana region as project requirements dictate.
  • Preferred background in substation design/engineering or transmission/distribution line design/engineering.
  • Demonstrated skill in project design review and problem-solving in line with industry and client standards, alongside managing multiple tasks to meet project deadlines.
