We utilize video storytelling, social media design/management/strategy, and digital advertising (social media, Google, and apps) to promote our partners. DMZ also launched DMZ FILMS, which focuses on movie and television series production. DMZ is producing three series - The Home, a comedic episodic series; and History Alive, a historical/paranormal docuseries, and Gas Grub.


Job description:

DMZ Productions is seeking a production specialist to perform a variety of tasks with a high degree of creativity and latitude. The position will work as an integral member of the DMZ Productions team and be available for weekend and evening assignments.


The ideal candidate will be proficient in both traditional video production techniques and aerial cinematography using drones. This role requires a creative eye, technical expertise, and the ability to bring ideas to life through compelling visuals.

Responsibilities:

Video Production:

  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Film and capture high-quality video footage using professional equipment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Edit and post-produce video content to enhance visual appeal and storytelling.

Drone Operation:

  • Certified drone operator 
  • Operate drones safely and proficiently to capture aerial footage in various environments and conditions.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks and adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure smooth and stable drone flights to achieve desired shots and perspectives.
  • Familiarity with drone maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.

Photography

  • Engages with colleagues and partners to determine a project’s requirements
  • Captures high-quality still images
  • Maintains and uses equipment such as cameras, computers, and tripods
  • Improves image quality using different editing methods
  • Acts as the director during photoshoots
  • Prepares props, lighting, and background to fit the project’s requirements
  • Arranges objects, scenes, lighting, and background to adhere to specifications

Creative Input:

  • Provide creative input and innovative ideas to enhance the visual impact of video projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve video quality and production techniques.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation throughout the production process.

Partner Interaction:

  • Communicate effectively with partners to understand their vision and address any concerns or feedback throughout the production process.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in video production and photography, including shooting, editing, and post-production techniques (3 years minimum).
  • Proficiency in operating drones and capturing high-quality aerial footage (3 years minimum).
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent technical skills with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • FAA Part 107 certification or equivalent drone pilot license preferred.
  • A portfolio demonstrating previous video projects and aerial footage is required.

This is an in-person position. Most work will be completed at the DMZ Productions Office: 1110 Arrowhead Ct D, Crown Point, IN 46307. Travel is required for out-of-state partners.
