The instructor will play a pivotal role in preparing students for technical roles through hands-on training and coursework aligned with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging instruction both in-person and online, maintaining a supportive learning environment.
  • Lead courses in areas like safety, first aid, and technical systems related to wind turbine technology.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and assessment of the program’s curriculum and resources.
  • Collaborate with program leadership for course planning and scheduling.
  • Participate in student advising, program improvement initiatives, and special projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Technical Diploma or higher in a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in wind energy or a related sector.
  • Minimum of two years' professional experience in renewable energy, wind turbine mechanics, or a closely related area.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and ability to meet certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of GWO curricula and the ability to teach the curricula effectively or a willingness to undergo GWO instructor qualification training.

Preferred Qualities:

  • A minimum of 100 hours of vocational teaching experience per GWO prerequisite guidelines for instructor qualification.
  • Possess active, relevant GWO certifications, including, but not limited to, Basic Safety Training, Advanced Rescue Training, and Basic Technical Training.
  • A training record in the Wind Energy Database (WINDA) following prior successful completion of GWO training modules.
  • Previous teaching experience or industry training experience.
  • Active certifications and a proven track record of hands-on knowledge in renewable energy systems.
  • Ability to teach evening classes.
