About the Role


As a member of the robotics team consisting of Controls Engineer, Project Engineer and Application Engineer, the Robotics Controls Engineer manages controls system design and programming for projects with robots, pick and place systems, etc. This position will be onsite at our facility located in Allentown and will require occasional travel to customer sites. The expectations for this role are broken into two sectors:


Tasks & Responsibilities


  • Programming.
  • Controls hardware design engineering- conceptualizing, material and vendor analysis, detailing schematics and panel layouts, parts ordering, field connection diagrams.
  • Commissioning automated equipment.
  • Training customers.
  • Service after the sale.
  • Responsibility for managing subprojects.
  • Support of sales and quoting.
  • Travel as required for pre-sales meetings and to accomplish testing, acceptance, and support of FlexLink supplied control systems.


Knowledge


  • Automation engineering with emphasis and understanding of recognized safety standard (NFPA-79).
  • Servo motors is required.
  • PLC programming - Rockwell/Allen-Bradley required/ Siemens is a plus.
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Field buses.
  • Robotic programming.
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical designs, including panel design/build and schematics.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written.

  • Able to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Electrical Engineering/Technology degree (AS degree with equivalent/relevant experience acceptable).
  • 5 years of applicable controls engineering work experience including integrated system design and robotic solutions.
