nLogic is looking for a Test Design Engineer with understanding of electronic system designs and computer hardware. You will be designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining hardware layouts, part lists, engineering drawings, and system designs. We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, can work in a multi-tasking environment, and can work under minimal supervision.

  • Onsite position working in Huntsville, AL in a lab environment
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a Customer/NASA background check which requires US Citizenship



Responsibilities:

  • Windchill: Utilize Windchill (APDM) to address drawing and parts list creation and redline changes
  • Documentation: Design, develop, release, and maintains hardware layouts, parts lists, assembly sketches, interconnect diagrams, engineering drawings, system designs, and other engineering documentation
  • Prototyping: Create and update electrical prototyping of development hardware
  • Schematic Drawings: create schematic drawings, document specifications and layout of PCBs specifying PCB materials, technologies, and design rules using KiCad for schematic capture and LTSpice for simulation
  • Electrical engineering: provide general electrical engineering knowledge to assist with design and troubleshooting issues
  • Computer Hardware: Reconfigure computer hardware when testing demands it. This involves careful configuration changes of cable connections, adding and removing cards from server computers, and modifying cables when needed
  • Procurement Efforts: Organize procurement efforts for COTS and custom hardware. Procuring custom hardware involves coordinating with Responsible Engineers, managers, and buyers. Procurement requires careful attention to detail when working with large spreadsheets and regular updates to managers


Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a Customer/NASA background check, which requires US Citizenship
  • Strong communication skills and be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activities concurrently
  • Ability to rapidly pick up new lingo and terminology in a new environment is highly valuable
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision and take ownership and responsibility for projects they are working
  • Candidate must be teachable and works with constructive feedback
  • Must be able to draw key data out of large engineering reports and diagrams
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other STEM field
  • 5 or more years of experience in the areas listed under responsibilities


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous Visio experience
  • Previous NASA experience
  • Previous experience working in an avionics lab
  • Experience soldering electronics or making cables
  • Experience with and basic understanding of computer hardware
