Finance Officer SeniorThe Metro Public Health Department of Nashville and Davidson County (MPHD) is seeking an experienced finance professional to fill a Finance Officer Senior vacancy. This position will perform the more complex professional and analytical work involved in the field of finance and administration, specifically with regard to MPHD's administration of grants and contracts.Typical Duties:Administers state and federal grant contractsServes as the primary liaison with Metro Finance, Metro Legal, Grantors, and other external partners for grants, contracts, and related mattersLeads the process for issuance of grants from the DepartmentEnsures compliance with Metro policies, state/federal regulations, and government accounting standardsPrepares regular financial reports and forecastsWorks with MPHD programmatic staff to develop grant and contract budgetsReviews and approves invoices submitted for paymentProvides training to internal and external stakeholdersServes as MPHD's liaison with managed care organizations and leads contracting processesAssists with tasks related to auditsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field requiredPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Supervision Exercised/Supervision Received: May supervise other professional employees as well as clerical personnel. Receives general supervision and reports to a designated supervisor, who makes staff assignments and provides assistance with complex or difficult problems.Working Environment/Physical Demands:Work involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, etc. Work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Employee works primarily in an office setting under generally favorable working conditions. Work is sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.Full-time, Civil Service positions - 10 Vacation Days per year (increasing after 5 years of service) 1 Sick Day per month 12 Paid Holidays per year Public Safety - Sworn and Civilian positions - 20 vacation days per year 3 Personal days per year 1 Sick Day per month 12 paid holidays per year Part-time, Non Civil Service positions - Visit HR and Benefits webpages for more information.
